Book Box

This a book box that I made for a customer as a wedding gift. The motif is a mixture of flowers of lilies and roses and the background has been scumbled with mixtures of colours of Diox purple, Brilliant magenta and Smoked Pearl on top of the Lilac base. The side has been grained to make it look like the book pages.

Teapot Notice Board

This is a notice board that you can placed in the kitchen because it is shaped like a teapot. It has been painted with blackboard paint/black gesso. I have painted some motifs of cupcakes and roses to make it look sweeter but on its own, it does look nice to hang it in the kitchen.

Priscilla Hauser's Roses

Here is a box that I have painted following Priscilla Hauser's method from the book. I have created a marbling effect in the background for the top and used jo Sonja colours for the roses. However opted to use angle brush rather than a flat brush.

Kids can also do Decoupage

Two young classmates learning to do decoupage over the weekend. I would say they have spend productive time and obviously they had a lot of fun doing it together.

Folksie Perpetual Calendar

I've worked on this piece for one week in between teaching. Actually I have basecoated this perpetual calender wood item three months ago and decided not to continue the project because painting the little pieces for the numbers on the calendar was a bit too much. Anyway, I am glad that I finished it in the end. It looks very country when you put them together with the Picket Fence that I did earlier. The toughest part is actually doing the wood graining effect on the little pieces. The design is mainly painted using shading, highlighting and stippling techniques. The roses are just an add-on to make it look sweeter.
