Folksie Perpetual Calendar

I've worked on this piece for one week in between teaching. Actually I have basecoated this perpetual calender wood item three months ago and decided not to continue the project because painting the little pieces for the numbers on the calendar was a bit too much. Anyway, I am glad that I finished it in the end. It looks very country when you put them together with the Picket Fence that I did earlier. The toughest part is actually doing the wood graining effect on the little pieces. The design is mainly painted using shading, highlighting and stippling techniques. The roses are just an add-on to make it look sweeter.
