Dekorasi Seni Lukis - Mesra Alam is out!!

At last, my second book "Dekorasi Seni Lukis - Mesra Alam" is finally out of the printing press and I managed to collect some stock this morning. I really feel so excited to be able to hold the real book at last after so many months of working effort and waiting time. The book is in bahasa melayu consist of 15 projects using recycle items with a step-by-step instructions, diagrams, patterns and colourful pictures. Love all the pictures in it....so ceria and meriah....just wondering if I am actually over doing it. You get to learn to paint daisies, roses, tulips, morning glory, hydrangeas, pansies, cherry blossom, frangipani, lilac, sunflower on various surfaces such as diskette, CD, jar, tin, cardboard, slipper, eco-friendly bag, etc. It's only RM 45 (inclusive of postage) for a well-worth 160 pages book.

Learning the Russian Folk Art

Quite a number of people was interested with the Russian Folk Art design. Among those who took the challenge to learn this type of painting is Aveena. She loves the design and enjoy learning the technique which is totally different from what she had done previously.

Mushroom Ceramic Pot

This ceramic pot was originally plain and with grooves and mushroom design. I just painted it and used the shading and dry brushing technique to enhanced the design on it.

Anugerah Kedai Harga Patut

Yesterday I attended an event in Putrajaya to received an award "Anugerah Kedai Harga Patut 2011 dalam kategori kraftangan" for Creative Cottage. This award was given by Kementrian Perdagangan dalam negeri koperasi dan kepenggunaan and was presented by the minister YB. Dato' Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

Magnolia Ceramic Vase

This ceramic vase has been painted with white magnolia flowers. I have used the slip slap method with four variation of colours to get the background effect.

Zhostovo made simple

This wooden box has been refurbished with Zhostovo design which is a Russian Folk Art design. Because of the shape of the wood item, I thought it would be more appropriate to have a classic design on it. Anyway I was inspired to paint this box after teaching a student this Russian Folk Art technique. A good exercise for me after so long not doing anything with this regard. It took me three days to complete it although I had improvised to make it more simpler.

White roses on key box

This is a key box that has been painted with forest green background and white roses and some lavender to go with it. The rose look more prominent with dark based.

Learning to paint animals

A student from Sabah learning to paint a series of animals. Each of the animal uses special technique to paint it like using Rake brush for the rabbit, Deerfoot brush for the bear and Line brush for the chicken.

Ceramic Kitchen Sign

This ceramic kitchen sign was given to me as a blank shapely thing. I've put a layer of all-purpose-sealer and basecoat each section with the colour accordingly. Then just shading and dry drybrushing to highlight certain area. I just varnish one layer to protect the paint.

Old frame but new outlook

An old plain black frame has been refurbished with rose design that makes it look more classic. I did not paint the background and when you put it up with the latest Hari Raya picture ...it looks good ...hahaha!!

The title of my new book is Dekorasi Seni Lukis - Mesra Alam. It's all about painting flower design on recycle items. Painting on Canvas

Here are a couple of students who had learned to paint on canvas. Painting scenery on canvas can be quite interesting and nice too. It makes you feel like a real artist...hahaha!

Wooden Pot Holder with scenery

I've decided not to paint a background colour on this wooden pot holder. Instead, after brushing a layer of all-purpose-sealer I straight away paint a scenery using acrylic paint. Thus I have made it look more country and natural. After painting the design I apply a coating of gloss varnish throughout the surface.
