Photo shoot for Majalah Keluarga - Jan 2011 issue

I was involved again with a photo shoot with Majalah Keluarga for the DIY section. This time for the Jan 2011 issue. As usual they always prepared the materials 2 months ahead. Anyway, I showed 3 crafts - painting on the tile, painting on the jar and decoupage on a clear glass plate. If you want to know how to do it, buy the magazine when it comes out perhaps in December. The effect that i used on the tile is unique as so is the decoupage on the clear glass plate. Whereas the painting on the jar is just to show the versatility of gloss enamel paint.

Something for mom

Putting your skills into good use

Those who had learned to paint should try and apply it. Here is an idea in which you could create badges to be worn by committee members of a working group perhaps during an event....sports day, family day, wedding, charity dinner, etc. A simple contribution of your effort.

Launching of Environment week

Yesterday I participated in the launching of the Environment Week in Putrajaya. They have given me a booth to promote Art & Craft using recycle items. As usual I demonstrated glass painting and decoupage to the public. There are great interest among the school children about this form of art.

Its nice to know that there are people who are genuinely appreciate art as it is and to acknowledge that it can help the environment. Of the many that come by to have a look at my creation, only one person had ask about the the commercializing of such product.

I did a lot of personalizing essence chicken bottle ...inscribing names and writing captions on the bottle which I charged RM 1 for each to school children.

Nevertheless, with all the tiredness, I felt good that I have contributed something towards a clean environment. If you are living near Putrajaya, go and visit the exhibition, you may learn something new about keeping the environment clean. "GO GREEN".

This is one easy way of doing a Christmas Gift. You can also used paper napkins to decorate a candle.

Porcelain Painting for the Siblings

These two sisters decided to spent the weekend doing Porcelain Painting on the plate and a mug. A good way of spending precious time to learn something new rather than watching TV or playing PC games.

In school they are taught to paint on papers, but here they get to do art on a different medium. A totally new experience and the most important thing they enjoyed it and definitely coming back for more.

Painted plastic folders

You can take the old plastic files and re-use it as a photo album or scrapbook. You can also paint the cover using acrylic paint. The way you do it is to use gesso as the undercoat before painting it with the acrylic paint. Don't forget to put a generous layers of varnish if you are going to use it thoroughly.

Painted notebook

You can actually paint on the plastic cover of a notebook using the enamel paint. Here, I have painted roses on the cover of the notebook that I got for free. You don't need to varnish if you are using enamel paint. Quite an interesting look.

Painted flowers on doorstoppers

Here are some of the wooden door stoppers that I have painted lately. As usual roses are among the favourites. If you combine it with a good matching background colour, it will stands out. If you have painted the door stoppers this nice you would not want to put it at the door. Perhaps use it as a paper weight or as a decorative piece on the table.
