Karangkraf Book Festival 2012

I will be doing a demonstration of painting on a cake board at the Karangkraf Book festival in Shah Alam today (29/1/2012) at 4.30 pm. This is an activity under the Impiana Magazine. Come and visit me at the festival if you are around the area.

Rice bucket for CNY

This is a rice bucket that I have painted for a customer who wants to use it for CNY. I really like it since it reflects the vibrancy of the festivity. The customer specifically requested for 9 koi fishes on top and cherry blossoms around it. Eh, Amcorp Mall is a bit quiet today......why le......like everybody oledi in the festive mood and no one wants to go to work. I am thinking of closing the shop on the 1st day of CNY unless there some people who wants to come for visits or lessons.

Door Gifts for a wedding.

I recently did some batches a few hundred little wooden boxes for a wedding door gifts in which I have painted Hydrangeas and roses of varied colours. It's quite a task to do.

Painted items for CNY

Chinese New Year is not too far away and there are so little time to paint for CNY. I only managed to do two pots and a carrier so far. Still yet to paint a rice bucket for a customer. The carrier is to put cookie jars. The pots to put house plants. I was thinking of painting a biscuit tin to put kuih kapit and a wooden fruit bowl for putting in oranges...but now has to abandoned the project since I'm a bit busy with painting for wedding door gifts and promoting my book.

Demonstration at MPH KL Sentral 7/1/2012

I just did a demonstration at an MPH event in KL Sentral today. Those who had made the effort to come, thank you for your support. Thanks also to those who bought the book. What surprises me more is to see my own picture splattered on a large poster...hahaha!!!

Cake painting 3

I make a layered cake and fondant again to experiment with my cake painting. This is just trying to gain a bit more experience in handling the paint. Have yet to find a better one then the one I'm currently using. The more you do the more things you discover. It means a lot of cakes to be eaten which leads to FAT!!!...hahaha!!!

Photo shoot session withe magazines

Yesterday I had a photo shoot session with Majalah Keluarga. This is for the DIY section in the March issue. I managed to do 3 items. Also recently did photo shoot with Majalah Remaja and Anjung Seri for their February Issue. I will also be featured in Majalah Impiana in next month issue.

Candle Holder

These candle holders are supposed to be painted for Christmas but unfortunately it came quite late. So I have decided to paint it in greyish blue and soft pink roses where you can still use it for decoration during the non-festive season.

Art is for everybody

I have been teaching students of different level and different ages for many years. From a 13-year old talented student learning Folk Art to a grandmother learning to paint on a jumper for her little grandchild. It has been always interesting to watch how they built up their skills and enjoying every minute of it. Art always brings moments of happiness to everyone, even to those who are unfortunate.
